How to Hide Your Phone Number
Whenever you make a phone call or send a text message, your number is visible to the receiving party. This is usually ok, but there may be instances when you wish to hide your number. Luckily there are tried and proven methods of doing this which we will explore below.
Hiding Your Number When Making a Call on Android
This will vary from device to device but it is very similar across the board. In order to hide your number when making phone calls on Android, go to the phone app and then go to the settings of the phone app. You should see an option labeled either Call or Calls. Select Caller ID, and there should be a Hide number option. If you do this, when you call someone, your number won’t appear. The person receiving your call will simply see Private Number appear when their phone rings.
Hiding Your Number When Making a Call on iOS
To hide your number on iOS, go to the Settings app, and tap Phone. From there you can choose the Show My Caller ID option. You can toggle this option on or off in order to hide your number.
Single Anonymous Calls Using Codes
The options above for Android and iOS work well but you have to remember to turn them off if you want to go back to showing your caller ID. If you just need to make a one-off phone call, then you can use the codes which we will list below. Simply enter these codes before the number you’re dialing and you’ll be able to hide your number just for that one call without having to go back and forth between your phone app and the settings.
