can i set specific categories in each column for main page?
limit post using wp-admin->setting->reading->how many post

did the demo look the same? if not then it might be your screen resolution is not compatible. what browser you’re using?
yes, the demo look same, i used google chrome ..
then it must be your resolution. the theme best viewed in 1024px higher res. the demo look fine to me.
How can i manage each post to appear in the pages? In the blog template, i chose a post to appear in only one category but it turned out to appear in all categories. Besides, all posts appeared even though i chose only single post.
no idea wp query can do anything like that..what custom page template you use?

do you mean the title link color?
try open style.css and add this at most bottom
h2.post-title a { color:#cc0000; }
change the #cc0000 to your own hex color.
