I love this theme! Is there any way I can set a category to show in the featured slideshow, but not show the posts in the blog itself?
Yes. You can create a category to feature and not showing it on standard post by excluding its cat id within the wp_query on index.php. i.e showposts=6&cat=-1
*1 = the cat id, must put (-) sign in front to exclude the category.
Is there anyway to change the size of the featured post slider and the color of the rising bar and text?
Yes. Please open gallery.css inside the css folder and edit:
.jdGallery .slideInfoZone
.jdGallery .slideInfoZone p
