Games to Get You in the Summer Mood
Summertime is upon us, and with that comes splashing at the pool, camping, and summer vacations! But during the in-between periods when you’re inside, it’s good to have a hobby that keeps the summer vibes going strong, and gamers will be happy to hear that there are loads of great games to do just that. Here are a few games to get you in the summer mood, even if you’re inside.
The Quarry
No other game will give you 80s summer camp horror movie vibes like The Quarry. Having been recently released by the studio behind Until Dawn, this game sees the player entering the same type of choice and consequence decisions that drive the narrative in several different directions. With a killer on the loose, it’s up to you to get each of the counselors to the end of the game alive, all while enjoying all the nostalgic summer elements we’ve grown accustomed to, like campfires, summer camp, swimming, and more.
Red Dead Redemption 2
While you’ll be introduced to a snowy opening, a large majority of the game will have you taking over as outlaw Arthur Morgan as you explore lush lands, blue skies, and starry nights surrounded by campfires. While you’re not off being a cowboy, you can go hunting in the woods and near crystal clear streams, cook game, and make tasty recipes. If you want to play cowboy and get into the summer mood, this is the game for you.
Fallout New Vegas
There’s something about roaming the open desert and listening to oldies in the blistering heat that gives us summer vibes, and there aren’t many better options for doing so than Fallout New Vegas. With an orange tint across virtually every aspect of the game, you’ll feel as though you’re walking through the Nevada desert on your way to New Vegas, where you can play cards, gamble, and explore the strip to your heart’s content.
Animal Crossing
Nintendo sure has a way of making us feel like we’re really on our own tropical island. Animal Crossing lets you do just that. You’ll be able to decorate, manage, upgrade, and renovate your very own island, complete with a wonderful view of the ocean, sand to sink your toes into, and plenty of palm trees to keep you company.
Summer Time is Here!
If you’re looking for a few games to take your mind off work—regardless of whether you work at a place you love, like ThriveMD, or are just working a temporary job in fast food—or something to just sit back and enjoy during the summer, these are the perfect options to get you started.
